Bogliasco Fellowships

March 26, 2013

WHO:

The Bogliasco Foundation accepts applications from those doing both creative and scholarly work in the following fields: Archaeology, Architecture, Classics, Dance, Film/Video, History, Landscape Architecture, Literature, Music, Philosophy, Theater, and Visual Arts – without regard to nationality, age, race, or gender. Applicants should demonstrate significant achievement in their disciplines, commensurate with their age and experience. Students who are enrolled in a degree-granting program at the time of the application are not eligible. Applicants are expected to demonstrate significant achievement in their disciplines, commensurate with their age and experience. While the Foundation does not place any restrictions regarding age, Fellowships are usually awarded to accomplished artists and scholars who have a clear track record of achievements.

WHAT:

Approximately 50 Fellowships – or residencies – are awarded to artists and scholars in the various disciplines of the Arts and Humanities (Archaeology, Architecture, Classics, Dance, Film/Video, History, Landscape Architecture, Literature, Music, Philosophy, Theater, and Visual Arts). Although the Fellowship is not a cash prize, Fellows are provided with living quarters, separate private studios and full board for a month at the Study Center in Bogliasco, Italy. The Bogliasco Foundation does not offer training or courses.

Bogliasco Fellowships include full room and board, plus the use of a private studio. The cost of transportation to and from the Bogliasco Study Center is the responsibility of Fellows and their accompanying spouses/partners. So also are all project materials and equipment, and any personal expenses incurred during the fellowship period, including medical expenses.

WHEN:

Residencies at the Bogliasco Study Center last approximately 30 to 34 days and are scheduled during the two semesters of the academic year: Fall (mid-September to the third week of December) and Spring (Early February to the second week of May).

Deadlines for the submission of applications are January 15th for residencies during the subsequent fall semester, and April 15th for residences during the subsequent spring semester.
