We are seeking an energetic, self-directed, practicing artist interested in mentoring art students. Required MFA or equivalent in area of specialization. Preferred teaching experience at the university level and-or experience in leadership or mentoring role.


The residency provides artists the time and space to work creatively. In return, CMU students are provided valuable access to educational opportunities outside of the existing curriculum and faculty. Term of employment is August 2015 through December 2015. The position includes a $14,000 stipend with benefits and private housing surrounded by nature on the banks of the Chippewa River and designed by noted architect Stephen L. Barstow. The house provided for the Artist-in-Residence is located 15 miles from Mt. Pleasant, includes a private studio, and requires personal transportation to and from campus provided by the artist.


Position is open until filled. Priority is given to applications received by Friday February 27th, 2015.
