Millay Colony for the Arts AIR

May 29, 2016

The application process is competitive and The Millay Colony accepts residents solely on the basis of artistic merit. Our admissions policy does not discriminate with regard to race, sex, sexual preference, religion, marital status, disability or nation of origin. We do not require references.

The Millay Colony for the Arts offers a core program of one-month and two-week residencies to six visual artists, writers and composers each month between the months of April and November. We also offer a select number of group residencies for collaborating artists and virtual residencies for artists who can’t spend prolonged amounts of time away from home. Nurturing the work of artists of all ages, from a range of cultures and communities, and in all stages of their artistic career, we offer comfortable private bedrooms, private studio spaces and ample time to work in a quiet, pastoral atmosphere.
We are deliberately small in size and we do not emphasize events or production goals. We believe we can offer artists nothing more precious than the chance to work, and we provide everything an artist needs to organize her time for maximum productivity. The Colony does not oblige residents to participate in any events, nor are residents required to share or donate work.

MARCH 1 for August-November and OCTOBER 1 for April-July of the following year.
